Saraswati Puja 2026 | সরস্বতী পূজা ২০২৬

About Saraswati Puja(উৎসব পরিচিতি)
Saraswati Puja, coinciding with the vibrant festival of Vasant Panchami, is a grand celebration dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the resplendent deity of knowledge, music, arts, and supreme wisdom. It beautifully marks the arrival of spring. In Bengal, it is famously considered the 'Bengali Valentine's Day', with youngsters stepping out in stunning traditional yellow and basanti attire to visit elegantly adorned school and neighborhood pandals.
History: The festival has deep roots extending back to the Vedic period. Over time, in Bengal, it has evolved into a major cultural and academic fixture. For centuries, it has been the chosen day for 'Hatey Khori', a sacred ritual where toddlers are formally initiated into the world of alphabets and learning by tracing letters on a slate in front of the Goddess.
Significance: It is a day of learning and artistic celebration. Children are introduced to the path of knowledge through 'Hatey Khori'. The Basanti (yellow) color worn by people symbolizes the energy and blooming spirit of spring.
